Our Culture & Beliefs

Lincoln School, a K-5 public elementary school of over 700 students, is located in the midst of Oakland’s Chinatown. The school receives Title 1 funding- schools with a student base that are lower-income are provided with title 1 funding in order to help those who are behind or at risk of falling behind, aiming to bridge the gap between low-income students and other students..  A large percentage of the student population comes from homes where a language other than English is spoken.

Our mission is to inspire and challenge students to excel academically and socially through our guidance and positive modeling. We offer English immersion by which all students are nurtured and challenged.

Lincoln Elementary strives to be a model school where students, teachers, staff and community members collaborate to promote mastery of a challenging curriculum. Lincoln students are encouraged to be creative, critical thinkers and will blossom into caring citizens of a global community.
