Last meeting notes:

During the 2020-2021 school year, the Golden Dragon Project (GDP) has worked hard to hold a successful virtual walk-a-thon, a joint art contest and lunar new year celebration with Oakland Asian Cultural Center (OACC), and decide on funding of different projects such as art lessons for students,
restorative justice, classroom necessities, 2020-2021 Lincoln memory book, and helping the principal and teachers re-open classrooms to Lincoln students.

The next meeting will be held on Google Meets from 5 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 15th.

Save the date! On Thursday, May 13th from 5 to 6 p.m. we will have a special guest from the city of Oakland to discuss the 10th Street paving project and answer questions.

Response to Chinatown violence

Please read our DEI statement and City Council President Nikki Fortunato Bas and Lincoln Square Recreation Director Gilbert Gong’s joint letter in regards to the Chinatown violence that has been going on recently. We want everyone to know that we at Lincoln Elementary will stand together and in solidarity to overcome hate and violence. 

Help GDP Provide COVID-19 Relief to Lincoln Families

The Golden Dragon Project is working together with community donors, Lincoln teachers and staff to support our families who are experience food and financial insecurity as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. GDP and other community donors have supported 213 families through over $20,000 in donations in the form of grocery gift cards since April 2020. We’re asking for donations to the Principal’s Discretionary Fund to support continued assistance to our families in need. To donate, please click here.

You can also donate by check. Checks should be made out to “Golden Dragon Project at Lincoln School.” Please include “COVID-19 Relief” in the memo line and mail checks to Golden Dragon Project at Lincoln Elementary, 225 11th St, Oakland, CA 94607.

Most Recent Lincoln Community School Event

Lincoln Elementary School partnered with Oakland Asian Cultural Center to hold an art contest for Year of the Ox and a lunar new year celebration. The panel of judges for the art contest had representatives from Lincoln school, Oakland Asian Cultural Center, and Wa Sung Community Service Club. Please visit the Oakland Asian Cultural Center’s virtual gallery to see all the entries and the winners.

The Rosita Young 4th Grade Camp Fund

The GDP is proud to sponsor Lincoln Elementary’s annual fourth grade field trip in honor of Rosita Young, the teacher who spearheaded the tradition of 4th grade camp, who recently passed away. Contributions to the fourth grade fund should be made payable to the “Golden Dragon Project.” Please indicate the “Rosita Young 4th Grade Camp Fund” on the memo line.
